Operation Konversation logo. Operation Konversation is a German language course for intermediate learners who want to get more immersion experiences without the disruption of moving to Germany

A live German course for somewhat-stuck intermediate learners (A2-B2) who understand German… but freeze, overthink, or struggle to speak it in real conversations.

The most playful way to go from German learner to German speaker

You’ve been learning German for a little while and want to finally feel ready for easy conversations where you can chat to native speakers with confidence.

But it’s hard because

  • You had fast progress at the start and then you got stuck at “basic adult German” where you can sort of get by, but you can’t express yourself fully or be seen for who you are—and being corrected all the time is exhausting.

  • You can’t get access to practice, no one around you speaks German, and you feel like you need more of an immersive push, but without putting your whole life on hold.

  • You’re putting in lots more time with the language and working ever harder, but it still feels like there’s something missing. You’re starting to wonder if it’s down to the fact that you’re “not a language person” and you lose faith.

What you really want

German conversation flow illustration. Having fun and talking freely.

To feel the easy flow of an actual conversation in German.

To understand what people are saying, come up with your reply, and be able to articulate it fast.

To be in the moment, not grasping around in a mess of words and word endings as if it’s a rush hour traffic jungle.

In short: You want to enjoy chatting to native speakers in conversational German.

And I think you deserve just that!

Immersion would be great…BUT

You’re probably looking for something a little less disruptive than a 3-month homestay with a German family right now.

That’s where Operation Konversation comes in:

More immersive than a 1-1 session. Less disruptive than moving to Germany.

Hi, I’m Kerstin!

I’m a language-loving, tech-curious, and insatiably creative language coach and German teacher. For 14 years, I’ve helped students around the world move beyond overthinking and into confident, natural German conversations.

With Operation Konversation, I want to invite you to into a new type of German learning adventure: immersive, playful, and openly embracing tech and even AI as our learning tools.

If you want to have German conversations where you feel prepared and ready to speak freely, this programme is right for you.

OUR GOAL:

In 10 weeks, you’ll go from understanding German in your head… to thinking on your feet and responding naturally in conversation.

Here’s what’s included:

Weekly Missions
A structured speaking pack with prompts and challenges sent out every week, designed to get you out of passive learning mode. Complete the mission and get feedback on your results.

Personal Feedback
You submit your work and get individual feedback from me, so you’re not guessing whether you’re “doing it right.”

Our Weekly Live Session
We meet online for targeted teaching to improve pronunciation, grammar, and fluency, and you will actively use your German in real conversations (without being put on the spot).

After-Session Vocab + Review Sheet
So your learning doesn’t fade after class and you can get the most out of every session.

The Konversation Hotline
Ongoing text support for questions, grammar/vocab chat, and celebrations, so you’re never stuck between sessions, and you stay consistent even if you miss a live call.

How Operation Konversation Works

Every week, you receive a short mission. You work on it at your own pace, then submit a recording to me to get personal feedback and hints to improve your spoken German.

Then on Thursday, you come to a live session where you put the week's task into practice in real conversation with your classmates.

The programme runs in two phases across 10 weeks, with each phase building towards a distinct speaking goal.

Operation Konversation registrations close on 16 March. Sign up here

You might have some open questions…

What level do I need to be in German?

Operation Konversation is aimed at intermediate learners (A2–B2). You don’t need a formal assessment or proof of your level. What matters most is that you understand how German sentences are built and can work with verbs, cases, and adjectives. It’s totally fine if your endings aren’t always perfect (nobody’s are).

Typically, you’d already
• Understand everyday spoken German
• Follow podcasts or conversations with effort
• Know core grammar structures

If you understand German but hesitate when speaking, you’re exactly who this is for.

What if I miss a live session?

All live sessions are recorded so you can easily catch up. Plus, you’ll already have your weekly mission and personal feedback, so you can practice and learn flexibly.

Consistency matters more than perfection, so even if you can’t attend every live call, you can fully benefit from the structure.

I’m busy. How much time does this require?

Plan for:
• 1 live session per week (about 60 minutes)
• 1 speaking mission to complete at your convenience (15-20 minutes)
Optionally, a few days of speaking reps (10–15 minutes)

This is designed for professionals with full schedules, so it fits into your daily life and helps you speak consistently.

What results can I realistically expect?

Of course your mileage may vary. But by the end of 10 weeks, you can typically expect to:

  • Respond faster in conversation

  • Speak with fewer pauses

  • Feel less mental translation happening

  • Participate more naturally in real discussions

You may still make small mistakes (that’s normal at any level). But you’ll think more quickly, speak more freely, and feel far more comfortable using German in real time.
