Relax and Immerse Yourself On A French Language Vacation

Welcome to the Fluent French Retreat 2019, to take place in the stunningly beautiful Loire valley this summer.

This is our Champagne and Châteaux Retreat, a special week away from it all where you can learn and practice your French while taking in the delights of Blois.

Our French retreats offer live French learning, immersion, outings, coaching, a luxurious home base, and a week to completely focus on your progress.

Relax and Immerse

You'll spend every day with your language coaches and reap the benefits of language immersion. It's a small and private group, so that we can adjust teaching to your level.

If this sounds like a tough workout for your brain, rest assured that your body and soul are well cared for throughout with healthy, seasonal food and even a private wine cellar tour.

Here is just a tiny taste of the outings we are planning:

  • The Sparkling Light and Sound Show at Blois Castle

This is a day out like no other! Beautiful French castle, amazing light show, delicious meals, speaking French like an old hand, and a postcard to make your friends at home jealous.

  • Château D'Amboise

Châteaux stand everywhere in this marvellous part of the world, but this one, this is the one where no other than Leonardo da Vinci thought his thoughts!

  • Private Vineyard and Cellar Visit

If you haven't visited a French vineyard, you've not been to France. Don't worry, we've got the best address in the region to share with you exclusively.

Thérèse Lafleche

Thérèse is going to be your amazing retreat host. She’s bilingual in French and English thanks to her Canadian background, and the most passionate foodie you could ever meet. Thérèse is hosting us on this retreat in her own former neighbourhood, so she will ensure that you discover the places only in-the-know locals can tell you about.

Having Thérèse on board for this special Fluent French Retreat is a delight, as she’ll be making sure you leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and treated like royalty!

For people who live a busy life, a retreat is a great alternative to normal language lessons. For me it was a relaxing vacation and a useful and active way to spend a week.

Now I feel fluent, and if I get stuck I can always find the words to express myself.

Our group will include you and 4 to 5 other French learners, a dedicated French tutor and your retreat leader Thérèse. It is a small and exclusive retreat group, ensuring that you will be able to get individual attention and support when you need it.

Could I Bring My Partner With Me?

We have space for you and your partner, and in fact there is an attractive rate we can offer to a couple. We'd love to get to know both of you, so don't hesitate to send an email to and let us book a short call so we can learn about your language goals.

What's The Required French Language Level?

In this deliberately small group, we can adjust teaching to your level. The group is hand-selected to ensure that each participant will be able to achieve their language goals.

As a guideline, it’s good if you can conduct and follow a conversation of any kind. In formal terms, we're looking for participants between A2 and B2. If you are a little nervous about whether your level is right for this retreat, don't hesitate to email me and I will be able to guide you personally.

What Will I Need To Do?

At our French retreat, you'll be able to enjoy the immersion experience that we have prepared for you. You will need to arrange your own travel to Blois (see below for detailed instructions). You should also ensure that you have valid travel insurance and documents for your trip to France.

How Do I Get To The Loire Valley?

Fly to the Paris airports for a quick connection by train (approx. 1.5 hours).

The train station at Blois is served by the French SNCF whose website and planner will show you national and international connections. Trains by SNCF are fast, affordable, and convenient, especially the high-speed TGV trains. If you want to spend more time in France after the retreat, Blois will be a perfect starting point for trips to Paris, Lyon, La Rochelle, or even Switzerland.

If you'd like expert assistance with your travel arrangements, let us know as we've got a professional travel agent on call for you.

How Do I Register?

Send an email to, including a bit of background about how long you've been learning French, how you've studied, and a description of what level you're at. You will receive an email from me with your decision and a payment link to confirm your booking within 24-48 hours.

I Have More Questions! What Should I do?

No problem! Email me at I'll be excited to hear from you!
